Moor Mother

Wednesday 20.10, 23:30, Salle des Fêtes

Camae Ayewa aka Moor Mother is a Philadelphia-based musician, poet and activist, and founder of the Black Quantum Futurism collective. In a radical move, she reworks the protest song genre through saturated noise and undisguised anger. Between punitive dark rap, triturated archives, punk susurrations and Afro-futurist modulations, Moor Mother re-examines the traumas born in racism and capitalism throughout the history of Black diasporas. In addition to her solo project, she is a member of the bands Irreversible Entanglements and Moor Jewelry, and has participated in Kevin Martin and Justin Broadrick's Zonal project.
