And then, in near silence, with the PA turned off, our attention is suddenly activated by the waste and small things of everyday life containing invisible energy, heat, magnetism, gravity. Live, Akama sculpts with the energy of office paper clips, rubber bands, hot plates and TV screens, creating fragile and brilliant situations which excite the examination of the relationships we weave. The artist composes for others, performs, creates installations, runs the label Melange Edition, co-publishes Reductive Journal and Mumei Publishing.
