Immaculate Conception

Hannah and Alistair, Western expatriates in Pakistan, are unable to have children. Desperate to try anything, Hannah is convinced to go on a retreat to a shrine run by eunuchs for three nights of prayers and ceremonies. There, while Alistair, a rationalist, shows skepticism bordering on hostility, Hannah fully embraces the sacred atmosphere of the place and befriends young Kamal... By making cultures and beliefs collide in the heart of a country torn between traditions and modernity, Immaculate Conception may upset many certainties.
